Top 10 Places to Travel in Switzerland

Here are some of the most popular places and activities to visit in  Switzerland:

1. Interlaken

One of the most popular summer holiday destinations in Switzerland is Interlaken, located between Lake Thun in the west and Lake Brienz in the east. Hohematte, a 35-acre open space in the middle of the city, is a marvel of urban design. Around the Höheweg, the major thoroughfare through here, are breathtaking mountain views, flower gardens, hotels, and cafes.

The Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau loom above the town. Fantastic options for alpine excursions abound; main activities include hiking, climbing, abseiling, and kayaking. In addition, more than four to five mountain railroads, cable cars, chairlifts, and ski lifts provide access to the surrounding area and several opportunities for aerial observation.

Skiers and snowboarders can choose among the nearby resorts in the winter, while cross-country skiers can enjoy the extensive route system. They can also take a paddle steamer tour around the lakes to take in the views from lower elevations.

2. Zermatt

Zermatt is famous for the Matterhorn, therefore you cannot drive into the city itself to access the map. You have to drive nearby, and then you’ll take a train up because there are no cars in the city. Then you get to the town. You will be amazed by the view of the Matterhorn. A series of gondolas will take you to the Matterhorn and surrounding sites. I was being a cheapskate and didn’t want to spend 60 to 100 to get it.

The Matterhorn. I do regret that, so if you are going, I would recommend you do it up or get a Swiss pass, and you’ll be able to get discounts on the gondolas. I found a little walking path that allowed me to see the Matterhorn and get beautiful drone shots. Also, I did some flips and twists and splits in the area. They also have McDonald’s there, so I definitely recommend going there. You have to see the Matterhorn at least once in your life.

We only did a day trip in the city but stayed around this area for a total of 3 days because there was just so much to do.
Immediately when we arrived in Lucerne, we were shocked at how pretty the architecture was, with colorful murals covering many buildings. Another great activity is a cruise on Lake Lucerne or hiking up Mount Pilatus and Mount Pilatus, one of the most famous mountains in Switzerland.

If you’re going to head anywhere in this city, make sure to go to Zurich’s Old Town and walk around the winding cobblestone streets with endless colorful buildings. A highlight for us, if you’re visiting Switzerland in the summertime, is that Zurich is a first-rate town for water sports. You may go swimming in Lake Zurich or maybe take a cruise.

Above all else, you need to visit the badi dotted all around the city. The nice part is that every one of them is free, and you could even make a whole day trip of it if you bring some food and drinks. We couldn’t believe a city this big would have water this clean to swim in, and it was just the perfect ending to our time in Zurich.
